Murray tours with Spiritwind in Fall Celtic Celebration
After a successful Summer festival tour, East Coast Folk and Celtic singer Patricia Murray is teaming with Toronto Juno-nominated bagpiper Rob Crabtree in an original production of Spiritwind, A Celebration of Celtic Music for Fall.
Murray and Crabtree co-wrote and star in the production, which focuses on the intrigue of the Fall season - a time of reflection and mysticism in Celtic tradition. The show is an integrated blend of award-winning bagpiper Rob Crabtree's instrumental pieces and award-winning vocalist Patricia Murray's songs in both Gaelic and English.
'I am really excited about working with Rob on this highly original project. Music during the Fall served an important role in the Celt's life. I look forward to exploring this theme and sharing it with audiences'.
The Fall has had tremendous significance to the dwellers of the Highlands of Scotland across the centuries. During the show, connections between the music and the season are explained. The audience can follow as Spiritwind travels from the golden harvest days of late summer to the mysterious and ancient rites of Samhain (Hallowe'en) to the arrival of the first frosts of Winter.
Spiritwind will take place in Toronto on Friday, October 27th, 2000 at Christ Church Deer Park, 1570 Yonge Street (one block North of St. Clair). Show time is 8pm (doors open at 7:30pm).
Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. For information and tickets, call (416) 489-6414 or email crabtree@arvotek.net. Visit the Spiritwind website at http://www.patriciamurray.ca/spiritwind/
